ObservancesRemembrance of American war dead
Memorial Day is a federal holiday observed annually in the United States on the last Monday of May.[1] Formerly known asDecoration Day, it originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the fallen Union soldiers of the Civil War. (Southern ladies organizations and southern schoolchildren had decorated Confederate graves in Richmond and other cities during the Civil War, but each region had its own date. Most dates were in May.) By the 20th century Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who have died in all wars. Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.[2] As a marker it typically marks the start of the summer vacation season

Gone Fishing

Nikon D7000, Nikkor 300mm f2.8, ISO 1250, f4, 1/400

It's that time of year again for the boy's of Natural Vision Photography. Summer became a different beast last year with Chad and I fishing in bass tournaments. This year is no different, with 9 scheduled tournaments this summer and the bass fishing opener coming in a few days, our photography once again is going to take a back seat. We will continue to shoot as much as time will allow. We also will continue to share our new content via Twitter.

A huge THANK YOU to our loyal fans that check-in with us on a daily/weekly basis. Keep in touch and most importantly keep shooting!

Photo of the Week! Gooseberry State Park, MN

Gooseberry Falls State Park, MN
Nikon D7000, 12-24mm @14mm, ISO 100, 1/8, f22

Here is another image from Minnesota's north shore at Gooseberry Falls State Park. Gooseberry is a fun but challenging location to shoot. There are water falls, moving water and rock formations to photograph around every turn. The challenge is to find an area where there aren't people in your shot. But again, the challenge in photography is part of the fun!!

Photo of the Week! Three Sisters pt.II

Cascade River State Park, MN
Nikon D7000, 12-24mm, ISO 100, f16, 1/4

Here is the "other side" of my last post of the Three Sisters. This area of northern Minnesota is simply beautiful anytime of the year. This trip was before all of the snow had fully melted and before there were leaves on the trees. I usually make my trip to the north shore in the fall during peak colors, but I'm glad I was able to make an early trip.
