Bass Fishing Tournament

As Chad and I have mentioned around a month ago we enjoy bass fishing as much as photography. When the summer months roll around we find ourselves on the lake more than shooting. A couple of weeks ago Chad and I got a chance to combine our hobbies and shoot a local bass fishing tournament.

It was a rough day on the lake to say the least for the folks participating. The day started at 6am with heavy clouds and wind. Then came in the rain, fortunately, it didn't rain too hard. By the end of the tournament the sun was out and the temps where approaching 90 degrees.

There are some similarities to nature and wildlife photography and event photography such as a fishing tournament, but not many. The biggest challenge was shooting from a boat as it was rocking back and forth. Other than that, it was getting good action shots of the fishermen landing a fish.

Chad shot mostly video while I shot all stills. Look for the video to show up on our blog in the coming weeks!
